The louvre & the tuileries
The Louvre is a 13th century castle that has been transformed throughout history. Formerly the residence of the kings of France under the French Ancien Régime, it is now one of the most prestigious museums in the world. Since 1989, its famous glass pyramid has dominated the centre of the Cour Napoléon. Inside, there are medieval ruins and three galleries : Sully, Richelieu and Denon. It is a 60.600 m² journey through time. Outside, the majesty of the Tuileries gardens and fountains enthrall sportsmen and walkers, from the palace to the obelisk of Concorde. A green lung in the city.
